Cemetery Skyline
Cemetery Skyline is a Finnish-Swedish gothic metal band. The members consist of musicians who have played in several well-known metal bands such as Amorphis, Insomnium, Sentenced, Dimmu Borgir, and Dark Tranquillity. In February 2024, the band's name surfaced publicly for the first time when their debut performance was announced for the John Smith Rock Festival in Laukaa, scheduled for July of the same year. At the time of the announcement, no information about the band was revealed, except for a logo and a vague silhouette image. The band's lineup was revealed in March 2024.
Cemetery Skyline was initiated by guitarist Markus Vanhala and keyboardist Santeri Kallio, who wanted to make music together after becoming acquainted during joint tours of Omnium Gatherum and Amorphis. The other members, Vesa Ranta, Victor Brandt, and Mikael Stanne, were also long-time acquaintances, so their names quickly came up when assembling the band. The band is musically influenced by gothic music from the 1980s and 1990s, and according to Vanhala, this will not be a one-album project.
Cemetery Skyline's first single, "Violent Storm," was released in April 2024.
