Myrkvid
Myrkvid is a French black metal band formed in 2007 in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. One of the underground scene’s most uncompromising acts, Myrkvid blends raw old-school black metal with elements of blasphemous intensity and Black ’n’ Roll energy, crafting a sound that feels both rooted in the genre’s early ethos and fiercely individual.
From their beginnings playing shows across France, Belgium and Germany, Myrkvid quickly established themselves with ferocious performances and gritty releases. Their early EP Satanic Inquisition (2010) showcased snarling tremolo riffs, aggressive vocals, and bleak atmospheres that drew from the mid-90s black metal tradition.
In 2025, the band released their sophomore full-length album Nihilist via Immortal Frost Productions. With blistering riffing, raw production, and snarling vocal fury, Nihilist delivers nine tracks steeped in misanthropy, anti-religious themes and nihilistic ferocity — a record that channels the spirit of classic black metal while stamping it with Myrkvid’s own venomous identity.
